Akwa ibom launches cocoa production scheme

Governor Udom Emmanuel has assured cocoa farmers in the state of the readiness of his administration to partner in the cultivation, maintenance & sales of cocoa to generate more revenue.
 Mr. Udom stated this last Thursday during the flag-off of special cocoa maintenance scheme and training of youths on pruning, under- brushing, fumigation and shade management in Ekpemiong Itak in Ikono and Ini local government areas. He said that cocoa yields more revenue in the international market than crude oil and that the present slump in the oil market is an indication for the country to diversify its investment into agriculture in order to earn more revenue.
